By far, the best book on SMPS design is "Switchmode Power Supply Handbook" by Keith Billings.
If you don't find the book at the e-books section, PM me so I'll upload it.

I've just finished my first SMPS design project. I think you need to search on Google. And also go to www.powerint.com , www.smpstech.com , www.smps.us to learn fundamental knowledge about this topic.
At www.powerint.com U will find a lot of docs. Recomend you download their PI Expert soft wich will help also in designing the power inductor. Of course the program is for their IC´s.
Also visit www.onsemi.com they have a version of a program that makes calculation and simulation.
