Hello,

I am in time rush and need to design 20w led driver circuit.
input: 12V
Output: 1 LED, 20W, 1.5A/13V

circuit should have PWM dimming input
Driver IC should Farnell have on stock

If anyone have designed it before, would you be so kind and share with me.

Thanks,
joe

input 9-14V
output 1,4 - 1,6 A and 13-15 V

in the AN of LT3518 there is 24V input
I also find a lot of different variations, but I have no luck to find my demands :)

Do you use LT spice simulation program ?

Yes Automotive design here for 14V LED is lossy and you need a buck-boost regulator @1.5A WHat dim options do you need. Method and range...

This is a diode array of 4x4 diodes with each rated @ 3.5V@350mA +/-0.2V giving 14 @ 1.5A.
It is more common now to see higher voltage arrays like 16~18V which for 20W would be 5x3 array with ESR getting lower with maturity of LEDs

But if this your homework... You can solve the equations.

MC33166: 3.0 A Buck Boost Inverting Switching Regulator
3.0 A, Step-Up/Down/Inverting Switching Regulators

Yes, this is a white 20W led with 4x4 array.
datasheet say 1.4-1.5A / 13-14V.

This is not for school, but we go end of next week to dive, so I need to make also housing for that ... a lot of work waiting for me :)
I would be very happy I get schematic for my demands.
I will generate PWM signal for dimming with controller.

sunnyskyguy,
do you know how to modifie this circuits?
