I know that poly is on the top of any well or any diffusion. I just wonder why do they have to instruct me to layout as much a possible 1st poly or 2nd poly resistors with guard ring. I already asked some of my colleagues but I am not satisfied with their answers.
Can anyone answer why?

For poly resistors I use only dummy resistors on the fringes. No guard ringes.

Yes, agree with Fom. If low noise is consider, you can place a nwell under Poly resistor. And if supply is noisy, you need to connect the nwell to ground and guard ring is must for this hot nwell.

Can get what does the post mean clearly, but do you mean dummy poly for min density rule?
