How to calculate VCO gain according circuits structure and MOS transistor?

Anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

the VCO gain is the measure how the output frequency changes with the control voltage
so it can be related directly how the MOS varactor capacitance will change with the change in the control voltage

khouly

But I want to know if there is some equation to define this.

If the system spec require the VCO gain is K, then how to calculate MOS parameters such as W and L ?

If there is no such equation, then just get the parameters from simlation?

Could anynone explain the process for ring oscillator?

if ur talking about ring oscillator , it is not controlled by the varactor , it is controlled by changing the current in the inverter so change the propagation delay ,
which control the output frequency of the ring oscillator

Fout \alpha 1/ ( \tau • N)

so the current control \tau , so u control the frequency

Are there some books or papers introduce this in detailed?
I cannot serach good ones.

Anyway, thank you , Khouly!
