buy cmx868

i want to make a communication system between 2 AT89sxx MCUs through telephone line.
For this purpose, i want to make a simple modam which doesn't need computer.
i have used DTMF encoder and decoder pair but the problem is, it is so slow and can not send complete hex data.
Please tell me the solution.
Thanks

It will be much easier and cheaper to buy a modem with a serial port and interface it to your microcontroller.

Hi

if 1200/2400 baud will make it for you, you can use CMX868 to make a simple modem

Noman,

Years ago external computer modems were popular. They connected to
the host computer via a simple serial connection (first 25-pin, then the
standard 9-pin connector you find on modern PC's). These types of modems
are extremely easy to interface to. They are still probably available new, but
if you only need a small supply, I would look where ever you can find old and
obsolete computer equipment for sale in your country. These modems are almost
useless for modern PC communications, but for your purposes, they are ideal.

Good luck with your project.
