can someone please help me to do this project. for this project, i want to build a home security and the control it with PC. can someone give me information abour this. any circuit design and programming (microcontroller and VB).. thank you..

do u mean something like
when the user is present within a proximity of some distance, using RF u identify them and log in into pc. I think u require parallel port interfacing. See this link

try to think of your design first...like what kind of things you want to sense, then we would suggest sensors for those, plus circuit design, and then after that we would try to interface them on the pc...
 

Hi,I've done something ...
I use a PC , an old one , a serial board that control:OUTPUTS with relais, and Inputs with a MAX 232.
For sensors I use IR,microweave and Magnetic contacts for the doors.
For the software I've use VB6 for the graphics,menu and some subroutines written in C++ and QBASIC that controlls the external slot and the events(alarms).
;) It's strange ..... but works.
