Hi All.

I am using RPi Zero W for my project. My project also needs file transfer from RPi MicroSD to an external USB 3.0 HDD. I am thinking if its anyhow possible to use USB 3.0 with RPi Zero W using any USB 3.0 controller chip?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Not possible. USB3.0 is a back compatible to USB2.0
Anyway, it is pointless. There is no any SD card that can require such speed.

Agreed ... about back compatible.

if I use any other MCU which have FIFO line then interface it with FTDI USB 3.0 host controller?

What I am thinking is ... the RPI microSD Card I am using is 90MB/s so send the data over USB 2.0 (60MB/s) will be slow. So with additional circuit if I can get USB 3.0 then I can get full USB 3.0 (640MB/s) speed and my file transfer can be max speed of the MicroSD i.e. 90MB/s.

Thanks.
