internal pull up resistor in avr

in atmega 8 could i use internal pull up resistor with push button and save the external resistor.? just make it pull up and connect the push button to ground
 

Hi,

that´s how it is done many times.
But consider that it is relatively high impedance and thus prone to noise. --> no lengthy wiring, no noisy signal close to it.

Is that mean the external resistor is effective in noisy environment than internal one?

It doesn't depend on internal / external
It depends on resistance value. Lower impedance is less prone to noise.
