Hello everybody !

There is a weird component in my collection that I got from a guy who bought it at a flee market. The guy who sold it claimed that it is a LASER diode .... but I'm in doubt about it.

In the pictures you can see the component.

If anyone knows what is that, please let me know.

Thank you all in advance!

Smjesko

A quick search on the Web indicates to be a kind of gas sensor, manufacturer EEV, model VQ2. However, knowing how this works, whether it's burned or not, is another story.

Hello Andre,

thanks for the quick answer.

My I ask you for the source of the information where I could find more about the component? How to test it? How to assemble it for using etc.

Thanks.

Smjesko :)

I also did not find much information on that specific model, but at least now you are aware that it is not a laser sensor, but gas sensor, more precisely a "pellistor" (whose name I frankly don't remember if I heard it before). You will probably have to infer for yourself the characteristic parameters of this component.

If you make an image search with the keyword "pellistor", you'll find lot of devices similar to the one in the above pictures:

Thank you Andre - a lot! Now I have materials to study. :)
