Hello all,
I am trying to build a RC filter of 160KHz. It is a passive filter with single R=1K ohm and C= 1nF. But the output starts attenuating at 60KHz. What's wrong?

You either implemented a different filter or don't understand the expectable characteristic of a first order filter. Attenuation at 60 kHz is 0.6 dB (magnitude 0.94).

Don't you think you should tell us whether the filter is a high or low pass and include a schematic?

Ratch

You've given us almost no information. How did you lay this out? On a protoboard? PCB? How much is it attenuating at 60KHz? What is your test setup? Maybe your signal generator is attenuating. Maybe your probing method is bad.
