Hi All,

I am using PI expert for designing flyback SMPS, in that for transformer design they have given the primary inductance. if we need to provide flyback transformer design information to manufacturing people should I need to give the secondary inductance also or what are te information i need to provide them.. please give me some information regarding this

thanks in advance...:)

Hi satiz,

You don't want to give the secondary inductance value,
just the number of turns will do the job

Manufactures require primary inductance for proper inductance coupling by adjusting the core gap

All the best

well i give here a smps flyback transformer manufacture doc.

Most important is to specify the maximum leakage inductance that you are preapred to accept

Primary inductance
Leakage inductance (or K)
Saturation characteristics
Form factor/pin assignments
Insulation specs
Whether you need a safety/RFI screen.

Also should set some limits on DCR and core loss.
