Compiler for microchip picmcu except microchip mplab

microchip PIC compiler

i want to know is there any other compiler for microchip picmcu except microchip mplab

there are picc ,picbasic pro ,ccs and dozen more

I suppose you meant MPLAB C18. But why? It is free now!

I recommend either CCS C compiler or Proton (picbasic plus) if you are going for basic.

i suggest picbasic pro since you can find many books in this forum

Well because C18 is not free & only supports PIC18 series which leaves out all the PIC16's.

With the debut of C18 V2.40 Student Edition, you can fairly consider it's free! It has no code size limit, as what apply to Hi-TECH lite compiler.
