Hello.

I am developing a LCR meter that will function on its own but can also be connected to a PC to communicate with Matlab, and on one hand I want it to be able to measure Impedance at 100Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz, 100kHz, 500kHz and 1MHz but I also want to perform a sweep over that range so I can plot(in matlab) impedance vs frequency.

I am trying to use a ATXmega128A1 but I still want to use external data converters and to generate the excitation signal 100Hz - 1MHz I was thinking of using a DDS such as AD9953.

Its a 400 MSPS 14-Bit DAC 1.8 V CMOS Direct Digital Synthesizer.

But I don't know, is such a part suitable for the purpose I am looking for?

Is there any other easier way of accomplishing the range and steps I want?

Regards

Another way is to use MAX038.
