hi

in those days i am working on usb based and power pic programmer my question is that is that both chip are same can they work on same driver or i required differ driver for pl2303 chip, as thse chip are available in my country if they are not same then i buy FT232MB

pl2303 direct driver

Of course each chip has its own driver. They are not interchangeable. I don't know if the Prolific chip is OK as I even can't get samples in my country. But I tested the FTDI chip for a commercial project and it's really good. No problem with serial Plug'n'Play, fast and some extra tuning features .... I can recommend it, but it's a little bit more expensive.

No, the drivers are complely diffrent. IMHO, the FTDI drivers are easier to use, you can access the chip either with virtual comm port, or with direct drivers, which allows you to access the chip using a dll. You can also use the FTDI in bitbang mode, this allows you to control each pin independently, as input or as output.
