Hi to all,
Beware all users of Protel99SE-SP6, including me using this software since long time.
I faced some serious problem in the autoroute feature of this software.
It short the tracks (one track-short violation is very common).
See the following extrem serious result :(

Your comments on this issue is welcome.
Solution: Always run DRC before sending for PCB manufacturer (I did not).

Thanks
Sadat

The auto routers by Protel have always been bad.

But I would be suprised if you cannot get better result by making small changes to rules setup. Normally you can specify if violation type can be ignore during routing pass, or if a cleanup pass is needed afterwards.

:F

Well this also happens in ORCAD ! You see your rules are set so the distance VIA to VIA are too small when they touch all those nets are at the same POTENTIAL .so PROTEL and any other just make the new connection effective

A better solution is keeping away from any crapy software. :)
Use Specctra.
