HD SDI Protocol need help

Hi,

I googled about HD SDI, but I was not able to get a good grip on how to use the sdi protocol. Can anyone suggest where I would get the basic information, like what kind of signal does it give (TTL or RS232), its bandwidth. Any help would be appreciated.

I connected the hd-sdi output of a camera to an oscilloscope; and the signal was scattered with an amplitude of around 800mV(which is true as per the protocol recommendation). I could not identify the kind of signal that was on the scope. Can anyone explain what I saw in the scope and how should the signal really be?
