Hi,

I am using a unity gain aantenna at the transmitting side with the transmitter output power of 5W. At the receiving end of the receiver the minimum power required is 100 milliwatt. How to calculate whehther the transmitter output power is sufficient to establish the link or not. i sthis the correct formula for measuring the minimum power at the receiving side at the load.

P(load)= Gain(transmitting ant.)* P(transmitter power)
4* pi * R(distance)* R

where R is the distance between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna. Kindly provide some useful tips about how to calculate the power at the receiving side of the antenna and also what other losses to be considered .
Waiting an early reply.
Thx with regards
