I need to control the speed of a single phase induction motor (motor in a ceiling fan) by supply frequency control using a micro controller. Help me out guys,

Ceiling fan works on AC mains 50 / 60 Hz, it does not seem a good idea to control speed by frequency control using microcontroller. If at all a microcontroller is to be brought in, stepping or switching using a triac can be considered.

Even if I use a 3 phase motor it also runs on 50-60Hz frequency.

Help me out here, I need to complete this project by December or I am goner.

Could you please elaborate the approach !!

Hi Roof Khan..
If you complete your project will you please give me the interfacing dig..
and it is possible to ON-OFF the motor by ON-OFF the starter of that motor..??

Reply please
