Tektronix TEK 2710 TEK 2712 Spectrum Analyzer Repair

Hi, I have a TEK 2712 with a bad A9U308 which is a PLS157 PLD.
The video blanking logic is not working.

I saw some other posts where folks have figured out the logic inside some of the other PLDs.

Anybody figure out the video blanking logic in U308?

Also as a separate issue
I replaced the battery in mine by bridging another one in parallel with the original and then removing the old one, thereby retaiing the data in the NVRAM. I am wondering, what happens if the NVRAM data is lost, can the unit be re-calibrated in the field or is that a problem?
