Peak and hold Driver IC for Fuel Injector

Hi ,
I am looking out for peak and hold driver IC, i came across LM1949 from National. however i am not able to find any other similar IC that is used as an peak and hold injector driver, Please anyonw is aware of such an IC let me know.

You might dig into the "Megasquirt" EFI control development,
and see what they use for low impedance injector options.

Paralleling a "peak" driver (no DC limiting) and a "hold"
driver (DC limited pulsed current source) is how I've done
a few peak/hold designs. You simply have to have a pulse to
control the peak path, that doesn't let the injector solenoid
go overcurrent.

I expect Delphi, Bosch, those kinds of folks are the bigger
players when it comes to automotive related application
drivers.
 

Please, can you explain how did you build peak and hold drivers more carefully??
