SAR ADC DESIGN

hi im working on a 3 bit SAR ADC... im having troublew on designing the SAR logic.

Can someone please share to me a complete design which includes s/h, comparator, SAR logic and DAC design...

it is just a simple one in which we going to input the variable analog voltage like 0-5 volts or maybe 0-8 volts then pass through the ADC then an output going to be displayed to a 7 segment display. thanks in advance.

Re: SAR ADC DESIGN

If its just 3 bits, why dont you go for Flash ADC. SAR ADC is generally chosen for 8bits to 12 bits. You can do for 3 bits, but unnecessarily complicating things. Flash ADC will be simplest with 8 comparators and resistor string and thermal to binary converter.
