usually the GPS has an serial interface, you should connect the serial port pins of microcontroller with GPS module.
Which GPS module you are using?

do a search in this forum .. you will get your answer.. I have answered it in many posts from many years...

DONT RE-OPEN OLD THREADS IF THAT DOES NOT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM

actually i am trying to implement a project which generates an audio signal based on which direction i have to go and in which direction i am. so i am trying to use GPS reciever to calculate the present location . i have no thought of which GPS reciever to use.

can u suggest which one to use?

as i am familiar with 8051 i would want to interface GPS with 8051.

It supports NMEA format
you can also search for other gps modules which are common
