definition of microstip dipole antenna

hi all,

I'd like to ask how many ports for dipole simulation in EMDS/Momentum? 2ports or 3ports (the third port is for Ground plane)

for microstrip dipole antenna simulation, I wonder that I should use port definition iSinn EMDS, ADS 2009 as the following:

Port 1: Single Mode
Port 2: Single Mode

or,

Port 1: Differential mode (Associated with port number: 2)
port 2: Differential mode (Associated with port number: 1)

is that right or I should declare 3 ports: port 1, port 2 and another port 3 for Ground?

Anyone please helps me?

ports in momentum

The right port assignment for dipole is:

Port1: Differential mode (leave the association textbox empty)
Port2: Differential mode (association with port number:1)

There is no need for a third port ground.

Make sure that the two ports are on the same plane, and keep the distance between them as minimum as possible.

Regards

2 Ports

Port 1:internal port
