Two stage folded cascode amplifier?

folded cascode amplifier

hi

what is the use for 2nd stage(class AB,Common source,etc..) in folded cascode opamp?

rail-to-rail folded cascode

Increase output swing up to rail-to-rail. Increased gain, too.
 

It can be used as a unit-gain amplifier,maybe.
Increasing the output swing is the main point in most palce.
 

The advantages have been correctly pointed out. This does come at the cost of reduced speed. But then for smaller technologies gain is a significant issue.
 

improve the output voltage swing
and reduce the output impedance (thus keep the gain when there is external load)
