Hello,

I am reading virtex 5 documentation to face a schematic design for such beast. I am using FXT, which has a couple Embedded PowerPC 440 inside it. While watching the documents i have seen a screenshot of virtex 5's PPC running vxworks. Now, the question is does the PowerPC works *suficiently* with RAM inside the FPGA?

Another question would be if is it recommended to add DDR RAM interface in board to be able to run confortabily vxworks or a linux variant on such device?

In the design i have a 256Kx16 SRAM Memory, i guess that would not be sufficient if i want to run an OS inside the PPC.

Best regards
