Hi,

There is LCF meter project using PIC will published in EPE Mag. FEB/2004

The Meter measures

L 1uH - 10H

C 1pF - 6500uF

F 0.05Hz - 5MHz

The oscillator based on CMOS NAND or inverters gates

I will build it :p

Can you say to me if this project works correctly?

circuit does work, with some comments. First, it depends on the manufacturer of the 4011 that you use. Some work without modification, others require a little tweaking. I built 3 of these and had to add a 43 pf cap across the second gate of the 4011 to get the meters to read linearly. There was a complete page of discussions on this in, I believe, the May issue of EPE in the readers letter section.

Hi,

I finished my LCF meter from EPE, but i have problems with it. It measures ower 1uF exactly the double capacity, so 2*cap. value. Below 1uF, it works perfectly. I used the firmware, from EPE. What can be the problem? The another thing is, that when I turn on the unit, it displays "capacitor time out" message. When i take a wire, and make a shortcut between the measuring points, and aftet a sec. I remove it, it works.

Any idea????
