How to check the functionality of coregen in Modelsim?

Dear all

Am having a doubt regarding coregen

Using XST i created a core (eg: division) and instantiated in a module and synthesized. Its working.

Now i want to check the functionality in Modelsim. How to do?

Core gen will generate .v and .vhd files, using that whether we want to check? if so how and whats r the steps?

Help...!
