I 'd like to connect two Pc by using LPT port and use the program Norton COmmander, Please show me to make the cable .

lpt port for total commander

Bidirectional parallel cable: Two DB-25 male connectors, and cable with at least eleven conductors. If you can't find the multi-conductor cable, get thin stranded hookup wire and spiral cable wrap (Radio Shack #278-1638). Connect pins as follows:

PC #1 PC #2
2 <-----------------------> 15
15 <-----------------------> 2

3 <-----------------------> 13
13 <-----------------------> 3

4 <-----------------------> 12
12 <-----------------------> 4

5 <-----------------------> 10
10 <-----------------------> 5

6 <-----------------------> 11
11 <-----------------------> 6

25 <-----------------------> 25

The connection is called Laplink - find it anywhere on the net.

total commander + lpt

Very good way to connection 2PC on LPT port is using Windows Commander at least 4.52 or Total Commander menu:Net>Port Connection to other PC.It is working fine with all Windows.For DOS use file :lptdos.exe .On the DOS PC start lptdos.exe , on Your XP PC port connection in client mode and You will see DOS PC drivers on your XP PC Total Commander window.Long filenames are not supported.On Your winall PC-s working PC is client and other machine is server mode in Total Commander.Speed is about 90kbs.Default port is 888.All the best!
