With reference to the 74S series (Schottky) logic device family, e.g., Texas Instruments SN74SXXN or National DM74SXXN .

Since there appears to have been a decline in these devices as newer technologies are introduced, can anyone suggest which logic family would be suitable as a direct drop-in replacement for the 74S range of devices (or maybe a good website for a useful comparison).

thx

Hi Jeremiah,

Look at 74F (fast) family.
Many manufacturer manuals compare the logic families.

You should consider the more advanced CMOS families from the same set of manufacturers.
