I have got admission in NTU, Singapore for MSc in Signal Processing. Please let me know the scope of this course and career opportunities. Will it be beneficial for me if I resign the current job and join for the course? I really want to switch over to Electronics filed. But i am sacred of taking risk too. Please let me know your suggestions.

Hi May I know your current status. Are you working in a MNC as a software Engg or completed MSc ( Signal Processing) at singapore.

studying a master in singapore ,compare to USA ,UK .not is so good. Also if u agree for get a aid from NTU, U need to sign an agreement , stating that 3 yrs u need to work in singapore..

This gives advance to the SG company to give low vague for good candidate..

Consider all these factor and decide..

best of luck

Thanks. I think you are doing masters in signals ans System in singapore right. If you look at the earlier post

"For my opion, I will not resign my job. Experience is so important. Signal processing is not so hot. No many positions are waiting for your after you finish your msc course.
By the way, I am in HongKong."

they have mentioned signal processing is not so hot. What about the scope of the course now. Job oppurtunities for signal processing?
Is it worth of doing P.H.D over ther in NTU.

I recommend to study technical course in US or UK not SG.

I agree with the opinion that signal processing is not a hot area in Singapore. As of now I am pursuing my PhD at NTU. But in Singapore research jobs in Signal processing is limited only to Universities and a few government institutions. None of the well known companies have their reseach centre here and ofcourse no core algorithm development is taken place. But compared to other places education here is cheaper.

Hello rashobh !

oh you are here too, I know you !
I have graduated.

Signal Processing is everything (everywhere) and nothing.
-> nothing: very hard to find specific jobs hiring requiring signal processing cerfiticate
-> everything: you can apply it to specific domains but still require domain knowledge which you may have to acquire on the job or work with subject matter expert specialist; It's like the computing degree. And also need to do programming work.

So it's important to factor in how it relates to one's career aspirations.
