Hi ppl,
I need some help with the following circuit. Its a simple power switcher with low-voltage cutoff. The problem for me is that I initially designed it for a 0.1 Amp, 12V fan. Now I've added an additional load which draws about 3 amps but the battery/adapter cant seem to power it.

Code:
                             D2
           +------------------->|--------------------+
           |                  a                      |
           |        Ry1-1            D3              |
     +-----+----+---o     o------o--->|---+-----+----+
     |     |    |   |     |      |  a     |     |    |
     |     |    |   |     |      |        |     |    |
    +|   [D1] [Ry1] |> |<-'   | <| Ry2-1  |   [Ry2] [D4]
   -----   |a   |      |      |           |     |    |a
  |Power|  +----+      o      o------+    |     +----+
  |Supp.|  |           |      |     +|    |          |
  |12 V |  |           |   [NiMh]  ----   /         ---
   -----   |        [LOAD]    |   |Smrt|  \<--[1K]--/ \TL431
    -|     |           |   v--o   |Chgr|  /         ---
     |     |           |   ---o    ----   \ 50K      |
     |     |           | Ry2-2|     -|    |          |
     |     |           |      |      |    |          |
     +-----+-----------+------+------+----+----------+

All diodes are 1n4001, both relays are 2Amp 12V DPDT, for my batteries I am using twelve 3000mAh NiMh cells.
Will I need to change some components for the circuit to work, or completely revamp it.

it is difficult to see it clearly.

All what you need to do is to replace D2 and D3 with diodes rated for, say, 5A, and do the same with RLYs - they also have to be rated to easily switch 3A loads, what means that you have to look at 6A (or more) RLYs ..

Regards,
IanP
