How to reduce Zigbee module's current consumption?

My present zigbee module is consuming 40mA of curent during active mode in both TX and RX,

How can i reduce this current consumption

40mA is OK if active. For small consumption enter standbye mode.

what is your zigbee module ? .. is it freescale ? .. and how many layers are iimpemented ?
