RHEL = Red Hat Enterprise Linux
This is a comercia linux distribution you need to bue it (As Linux is software libre I newer got how big companies like RedHat, Mandrake and Novell can sell "enterprise" Linux :?: !)

If you know how search a torrent network, search for it!

download rhel iso

Well it apers that enterprise linux is free if you can get it but to get it you probobly need to buy some support or dll of a warez site and this is not the open source way!A big thank's to Open Source Linux, or M$ wuld really be masters of the known universe.

RHEL linux is free as in you can download the source code from RedHat; they have to make the source code available because they use the linux kernel and other software on top of that is all licensed under GPL. However, GPL does not mandate that they must provide the binary ori the isos. So, theoretically, you could download the sources and compile everything. Or you can register for an evaluation version and download it from their site.

Since RHEL is their source of making money (and also the software in which they have invested a lot of money), RedHat tries to make everyone buy a support subscription and try to make it as hard as possible for you to get the isos and install RHEL on your machines without making a subscription. Even if you register and download the isos from their site, if you could be a potential source of money for them, they will come after you for using the RedHat trademark and demand you to make a subscription or stop using RHEL because you are using their trademark without permission.

So basically they can't stop you from using RHEL for infringing the license, because it's licensed under GPL, but they can stop you from using anything that has RedHat written in or on it.
So, if you download the sources from RedHat and strip all the "RedHat" and other trademarked words from the sources, you can use all that code and there is nothing they can do.
This is what distributions like CentOS, Whiteboxlinux and others do, get the RHEL sources, strip the RedHat trademarked words and repackage everything under a different name. You will see that the CentOS site uses the words "prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor" instead of "RedHat" because of these trademark issues.

The conclusion is that if you want to use RHEL without paying, download CentOS or another distribution that repackages RHEL. Of course you will have the disadvantages of not having support and of getting the updates a couple of weeks later than RHEL users, but that is for you to choose.

rhel4 as

Well I just visited Novell's site and read this about Suse enterprise Linux 10:
NOTE: The only limitation of this evaluation software is the duration you will have free access to update.novell.com. Should you choose to license SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, you will be provided with a new Activation Code, which you can easily update in your desktop or in Novell Customer Center, in order to re-enable access to update.novell.com for product patches and updates.

The download is free, so why down RHEL from p2p networks when you can get this for free (well kind off). You can download SLES or SLED from **broken link removed**
:p

anyway, just register a free evaluation account in redhat.com, you can download whatever you want. if you need upadte and your account expire (45 days) then you can just regiser another account and download whatever you want again. i will say it is essentially free, what is not free is the support service, but who care?
