fdti usb

I am using a parallel programmer (P16PRO) and winpicprog beta as software, it works well. I also build JDMV2 and use winpic but I get intermitent result, it also don't work using a USB to Serial converter.

I would like to build a serial programmer using a USB to Serial Converter Cable in the sense that it is difficult to find a portable computer with a parallel or serial port.

I am helping/assisting students in creating or making project as a requirement for them to graduate. I do this as a hobby and also to learn more.

I find it hard to order a ready made programmer for i don't have much resources off my sleves.

Thanks to any one who might be of help.
