What can a beginner do?

How can I start my study of IC design.?I'am chinese student,major in electronic communication;however ,I love IC design more.I've done some part-time job which has sth related to FPGA,but I dont think it's enough,I want to learn more.But there is few good books of IC design in china,what can I do?Where can I find excellent books?I badly wait for your advices,thank you!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:
