i am in a great dilemma regarding the nomenclature of the digital IC's. For example, considering simple gate series, i.e. 74 series.

Why the series is 74XX and why not 87XX of 92XX series or so? What is the significance of the 74XX series?? :?:

there r lot of things that we do not know why its name is?
say why its name is HEN,parrot,or donkey.

there is some think in that like 555 threee 5k resis. in series
87= eprom vresion
89= flash version
30= ext. memory processor

Hi,

It's all depending on the IC manufacturer.

Why your name is Agarwalyogesh?

If you need more details, contact me.

74 was the name given to a 'Family' of IC's called TTL (Transistor Transistor Logic) It was a very popular series and many digital device constructed since the 1970's contained these devices

It's 100% dependent from the IC manufacturer...

What we do is to assign series of numbers for each one of the families of parts and then free numbers are later selected inside each family range...

I have one question whather tis site is in other language
