Hi, all

I don't know what tools can open .Z file in Windows? I tried WinRAR, it does't work.

Thanks.

how to open .z

Hi

As far as I know it is UNIX compressed file, use uncompress <filename>.Z
In windows you can open with winace and get a tar, but I do not any file to try. A software called picozip can open .Z files so try that if you use windows (https://www.picozip.com). Maybe you cannot read it anyway but give it a try...

open z files

Hi,

I have tried to use winzip in some .Z file and it works well.

But if in your situaton it doesn't you can try Wingzip from GNU, it's the similar application of the gzip of UNIX.

Hope helps,
