what is best solution for Energy Meter Development..?

hi all,

For AMR application and later on for Pre-paid Energy Meter idea..I want to develope my own energy meter. I have heard about Analog devices and Microchip reference solution but i dont know which one is better or any other is better.

I need suggestions and some companion who want to work on this project with me on knowledge sharing basis.

I've heard that ST has a really good single chip solution.
