usb to parallel linux jtag

hi.

My laptop computer doesnt have parallel port, but i want to use my parallel port-jtag programming cables with that. I want to use now the xilinx parallel cables, and Blackfin-linux jtag tools.

if I buy a usb to parallel or pcmcia to parallel adapter cable, then will my jtag tools work with it?
wich type should i buy?

I am trying to buy one since some weeks ago, but all what i found, is a printer usb cable, so it works only with printers.

what should i do?

jtag pcmcia to parallel linux

PCMCIA to Parallel port is best choice !

linux jtag parallel pcmcia

I tried many usb to parallel interfaces, they only emulate the LPT port, so you can see a printer port but NOT a True parallel port.

I have the same problem and I would like to know how to be able to see a USB device as a "true parrallel port" as you called it. Any idea?
