hi

system level simulation by using Matlab is the best way to start. By simulate the transfer function, you get feel how PLL work.

I think fist you should know which field your ppll is used in. Different field need different spec

ya i hv started the appoach from razavi but still i need some depth as far as transistor level is concern

You can read some doctoral dissertation from good universities such UCLA.
