different job areas of an electronics engineer

in the development of ICs there are various job areas (either digital and analog), what is better o what do you prefer ?
- design (layout, vhdl,c++)
- simulation, modeling (spice,ads)
- test validation on lab (test strategy,hands-on work)
 

I would like to design and design again and again and again ... and good and better and best ;)
