hi byka,
im koordinat.ur driver should be set and u under windows>settings>control panel>system>hardware look at ur devices driver specs.and look at the advanced settings.from one of these u should see the vrtual port that ur usb is using for rs232.set it to the port u like and set the baud rate.then do these settings for ic-prog,jdm..

I don't know the specs of your converter, but i think the main problem it's because the jdm needs the
+-12 V of a real rs232 serial port. maybe you should visit the kitsrus page and look the
DIY K149-BC programmer.

prolific usb to serial problem rts is inverted

However i am new to programming in VisualC#.NET.

Is there any Other (simpler) way in which i can access the COM port (read/write to XML device connected to it) using either Wndows Application (prefered) or Console Application!!

The "using System.IO.Ports" is not available in VS.NET 2003. Likewise the 'MSComm' control.

Please help.. thanks

I'm trying to design a control system for my graduate project,
I'm very new to microcontrollers and microprocessors and have no experince.

I have done this project successfully. TI supports all documents and you just only follow the schematic that they provide.

There's no code in the EEPROM, it just contains vendor ID etc.
You program the name you want to be displayed a the dilpg box in Windows every time you connect it to the USB port.



so, do you have sample program which can program in the EEPROM ? where is for PL-2303 IC's EEPROM.

you can also use software emulation using ATMEL AVR At90S2313 or ATmega 8 series
to make a low cost usb to rs 232. it is free and only support usb version 1.1 low speed.

PL2303 is the best choice, is a very easy and cheap solution for USB<->UART.it can also need no eeprom!

so try PL2303, you will like it.....

Okie, the IC TUSB3410 is best i think so
I made the demo board and tested. The IC worked ok,and you can free download the VCP soft ware at www.ti.com

Hi,

Does anyone use VB6 programming using the Prolific PL2303 ?
What is the MSComm setting should i put ?

My programming speed slow down when using USB PL2303 compared
to Serial. This should not be the case as the USB should be faster compared
to serial ?
