Layers with purpose "net & boundary"

LayerName Purpose
(NWELL drawing )
( NWELL net )
( NWELL boundary )

And i have another question. What does layers with "net & boundary" purpose do?
I know "pin" is for pin connect & "drawing" for normal device such as mos\resistor\bjt. But i don't know when "net & boundary" are used.
