hi...

Spin of electrons is a major contribution in Physics...

Electrons has electromagnetic origin..
Electrons spin is electron's em field angular momentum..
Its self energy is due to the electron's electromagnetic field energy.
Electrons are no longer defined as a point charge. Rather there is a continuum spherical distribution of both electrical and magnetic charges inside
The spinning of a point particle is someway meanigless..
