mosfet dc operation

Is there any provision for fixixng operating point in MOSFET devices, or is it relevant in these devices?

mosfet operating point

Hi visual,
DC operating regions are very important in circuit design using MOSFET.
Say for example if you are designing an analog circuit using CMOS then all the transistors should be biased in Saturation region.
This is done to achieve Linearity in analog circuits, which are very important.

For fixing the operating region of any transistor proper biasing through any voltage divider or any other means should be done.

Thanks

biasing mosfets

Hi
Also to biasing a MOS circuit you could use current sources (implemented with mirror sources,-a mirror source is a special transistors configuration-), specially when you are desining for integrated circuits where the area is very important and a resistor is not very convinient
Here you can find some very explicative java simulations

how to determine the operating point of mosfet

hi,

biasing is very important for MOSFETs so as to ensure that they work in the region of interest, usually saturation. in saturation we get faithful amplification of the signal. for biasing of MOSFETs you can use
1> voltage source at the gate and/or a resistor at the source of the MOSFET.
2> a current source at the source of the MOSFET.
3> a drain to gate feedback resistor.

vijay
