forced commutation

Anyone has any idea bout forced commutation for SCR? I have designed a zero-crossing detector+ speed controller for scr to control separately excited dc motor. I use TCA785. Please help me on design forced commutation of SCR. Which technique should I use? External pulse circuit is more appreciated. Thanks
