Buffer for LDO

Hi,

I have seen some papers about buffer for LDO

This buffer can improve the transient response??

Do you have some books about LDO and Fast Transient response?

Thanks!

Re: Buffer for LDO

You may look at:

A low-voltage, low quiescent current, low drop-out regulator

Rincon-Mora, G.A. Allen, P.E.
Stand. Linear Design Branch, Texas Instrum. Inc., Dallas, TX, USA;

This paper appears in: Solid-State Circuits, IEEE Journal of
Publication Date: Jan. 1998
Volume: 33 , Issue: 1
On page(s): 36 - 44
ISSN: 0018-9200

It proposes an efficient current boost technique for LDO regulators

Hi,

The buffer isolates opamp's high output impedance and pass device's high input impedance.

It moves the opamp's pole to higher frequencies so you have higher UGF.
But fast transient response is also related to buffer's slew rate current so you have to take it into consideration.

regards

Can you upload the paper?
