Sorry guys, I'm kinda new in PCB,

How do you solder a surface mount IC on a PCB at home? using a normal soldering iron would be to big for the pins on the surface mount IC.

is there other types of soldering iron?

Thanks

Alex

hi
for soldering surface mount components people use different methods.
1. soldering paste and blowing hot air
2. using normal solder iron along with flux(liquid form)

u can use any method, but make sure that while doing ICs(micros etc),don't use high temperature.
i don't know what solder iron u r using..but usually there will be different size tips available in market for ordinary solder iron.u can get small size tip and fix to it...

if u think this info. is helpful, could u plz click on helped me button.
cheers
