how to use ferrite beads

Dear all,

Q1) What is the function of ferrite bead?
Q2) How to choose the suitable value of ferrite bead for particular application??

Please help!

1. ferrite bead is nothing else but loosy inductor
2. frequency range is key factor when selecting

choose ferrite bead

if you use the bead on power line in series,
just check the power capability of the bead. -> size of the component.

On signal lines, look-up the impedance curve on datasheet
and then use the bead with highest impedance value for
the frequency band you want to suppress the noise.

and also check the DC resistance. only critical for high current line.

I recommend the Murata's EMI solution and several white papers.

Usually ,beads use to reduce EMI ,this is the most important function of bead.
