Irms

Can I safely assume that the Irms can be computed in the same way as Vrms for a rectangular wave (unipolar)

Code:
Irms=Ip x √D

where
Ip - Peak current
D - Normalized Duty cycle

I am using a current cource.

Why not if you use pulse current source.
irms=√(∫i²dt/T)=Ip√D
